About the teacher,
Penny Haren, Creative Grids Ambassador
For more than 30 years, as a quilter and several years as a shop owner, Ohio-based Penny Haren has been developing and teaching techniques that make it quick, easy, and fun for quilters -- even beginners -- to create heriloom quality quilts with stunning results.

As a member of the Creative Grids™ team, she has developed several rulers and works with nationally known designers as they " give birth " to their creations. Adding features that make it possible for quilters to achieve perfect piecing with ease is her favorite part of the job!

She has also written several books with Landauer Publicshing/Fox Chapel based on her technique, Pieced Applique ™, which elimiinates Y-seams, inset points and curves from even the most complicated blocks. Quitls and blocks that you might never have considered are now not only possible, but a breeze.

Creative Grids ™ tools inspired her to write Log Cabin Quilts -- a book based entirely on the six-inch trim tool. She has also written several patterns for Cut Loose Press that feature other favorite notions.

Penny consults with and writes the newsletter for Checker Distributors, the most diverse distributor of books, patterns, notions, and fabrics in the quilting industry.

She teaches and lectures all over the country and at most national shows.
